Nita Sue Binkley of Greenbelt, Maryland passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 after a serious illness. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Pierce Funeral Home, Manassas, Virginia and graveside in Nashville, Tennessee at Woodlawn Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4.
Nita was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Pete and Dolores Binkley, July 28,1953. She graduated from Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia in 1971, and attended Old Dominion University. During her career, she was a computer specialist for the federal Financial Management Service.
She is survived by her mother Dolores Binkley; brother William L. Binkley (Cheryl); sister Julie Tingle (Fred); and nieces and nephew Katharine Binkley (Mike Sandles), Sarah Binkley, Samantha Fortney (Kyle), and Matthew Tingle. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the EDNF Center for Clinical Care and Research at GBMC’s Harvey Institute for Human Genetics, at ednf.org.
